August 5 fly to Belize City from Newark by direct non-stop flight. Charter plane to TREC Marine Lab off the coast (about 30 minutes).

August 5-9 Spend 5 days/4 nights at the marine lab on Ambergris Caye, located on the most pristine reef system in the Caribbean, and staffed by skilled educators. Snorkeling, cave tubing, and exploring marine/shore habitats included.

August 9-15 The group will fly in 2 medium-size charter planes to the rainforest lodge at Chan Chich, on a Mayan archeological site. This lodge is located in the center of a unique privately-owned, protected forest with the highest density of jaguars in the world.

For 6 nights at Chan Chich Lodge: side trips and daily activities include:
1. Day trip by bus to Lamanai, one of the primary Mayan archeological sites
2 Local school visit and child-guided educational medicinal plant trail tour
3 Guided walks on forest trails, with lots of monkeys, coatimundis, birds, leafcutter ants, lizards, and archeology to observe
4 Organic shade-grown coffee plantation
5 Lake canoe birding

August 15 Private charter return to Belize City (about 45 minutes), and flight back to Newark via Houston on August 15 at 11 am
